The iconic ʻĪao Needle is in central Maui, west of Wailuku. Families will appreciate this paved pedestrian path that leads you directly to the sight and has beautiful views of the valley. This site has historical significance as it was here that King Kamehameha defeated Maui’s forces at the Battle of Kepaniwai in 1790.
